- Mark Wahlberg represented Vince Papale in the movie and is 5'8" and weighs 170 lbs.
* Vince Papale actually was 6'2" and weighed 185 lbs.
- Vince grew up in Glenolden, Pennsylvania as a child.
* Movie location was 12 miles away from his childhood home.
- In the movie, Vince heard about the tryouts for the Philadelphia Eagles on a televsion broadcast and was motivated by his friends to do it.
* Dick Vermeil contacted a couple of Philadelphia Bell players to come for tryouts and it gave them a chance to train.
- The film showed coach Vermeil in the parking lot with Vince and his broken car letting him know that he made the team.
* Coach actually called Vince into his office to tell him of the decision just like everybody else trying out.
